Animal Park is back at Longleat – here’s a little glimpse behind the scenes of the BBC’s new series

We recently received an emergency call from our friends over at Longleat Forestry, after a drone belonging to the BBC film crew became stuck in an old oak tree on the estate. Fortunately, not within the lion enclosure!

While capturing shots of the house and grounds for the latest Animal Park series, the drone had become entangled, high up, along the arboretum Pleasure Walk.

Two of our tree operatives to the rescue! We met with the film crew on site, located the drone and up Dan climbed – while Rick acted as his aerial rescue and operated the lowering rope.

As it was still active, the drone had to be approached with caution. But we safely retrieved it, powered it off and lowered it back down into the relieved arms of film crew and Longleat staff.

Can you spot the drone in the oak tree?
