Ash Dieback surveys for Wiltshire Council

Updated: Feb 6, 2023

Surveying Wiltshire for Ash Dieback.

WRC Ltd are delighted to have undertaken a county-wide Ash Dieback (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus) survey for Wiltshire Council of ash trees growing on Council owned and managed land.

Over 2500 trees and groups were plotted and recorded across the county by WRC’s qualified and

experienced surveyors, and management recommendations appropriate to tree condition and location made

In undertaking this important work, WRC have assisted the Council in their proactive approach to managing potential risk posed by badly infected trees, and also in their endeavour to appropriately manage less heavily infected trees.

By doing this, levels of infection can be monitored and any trees showing signs of tolerance or resistance to the disease identified. It is hoped that nationally, identifying these trees will enable the species to be repopulated.
